Life’s Path

This is not the title of an enka song.

When reading the biographies of outstanding people from around the world, you notice that they often had many different jobs and a wealth of life experience.

As a child, I read all the biographies of great figures.

As a middle schooler, I used to clip out articles from the newspaper’s people section.

I was always interested in everything about the world.

That interest spanned from mythology and history to politics, and eventually, I became interested in the lives of individuals.

What are the common characteristics of people who make a name for themselves?

They’ve experienced world travel. At the very least, they love traveling.

Whether due to the necessity of their work or not, they’ve visited many regions.

They’ve had experience in many different jobs.

They’ve lived through times of great wealth and periods of near bankruptcy.

They’ve experienced harsh betrayals from friends and subordinates.

Some have even been in prison.

They’ve faced times of deep mental anguish and slumps in their careers.

Yet, they had people who loved and trusted them.

These experiences were never the life they sought out for themselves.

They went through horrible experiences because of society, but it was also society that gave them opportunities for recovery.

Of course, my own life is somewhat similar.

In the end, they closed their lives with gratitude, rather than resentment toward society.

I want to live in the same way.

From now on, in my later years, I want to dedicate myself fully to social reform projects more than ever before.

I am grateful for my understanding companions.

Blood sugar: 117 This morning, I’m full from milk. Quite strange.
